The San Francisco 49ers and the Seattle Seahawks meet for the third time this season, in the NFC Championship game on Sunday. During the regular season, both sides won their home match. In taking the 49ers to a third consecutive championship game, in his first three seasons as head coach, Jim Harbaugh not only became the first man to achieve this feat, but also steered the 49ers to a 15th championship game, which ties the Steelers for the most appearances since 1970. San Francisco will certainly go into the Seahawks game with momentum, having come through the divisional game in Carolina, without allowing a single point in the second half, as they scored 17 unanswered points on the way to their 23-10 success.

Despite having lost on their last two visits to Seattle, and with a combined score to the Seahawks in those matches of 71-16, the 49ers are confident of progressing to yet another Super bowl appearance. Seahawks confirmed their number 1 seeded status with their 23-15 win over New Orleans, bringing them to their second NFC Championship game, the last one being in 2005, when they won to advance to Super Bowl XL. The 49ers will have to be particularly vigilant of Seattle's Pro Bowl running back, Marshawn Lynch, who set a franchise post-season record in rushing for 140 yards against New Orleans, scoring two touchdowns along the way. His play-off game career, has seen him rush for five touchdowns in five matches, and post three 100-yard games, from those five appearances.

After a positive beginning to their regular season campaign, the San Francisco 49ers will be looking to extend their winning tally as they face the Seattle Seahawks, this Sunday. This game will be hosted by the Seahawks at the CenturyLink Field. The 49ers won their first game comfortably, which was pretty expected from such a high quality side like them. However, they need to plan for the next games, and take every team seriously, if they want to end the season on a high.

Colin Kaepernick did a pretty good job for his team in the last game, as his passing skills were magnificent. He will be hoping to win more matches for his team, and continue with his positive form.The Seahawks also secured a victory, as they managed to defeat the Carolina Panthers by 12-7 in their last game. They will be looking for a more solid display and winning more big, as the tournament progresses into its 2nd week. Russell Wilson and company did well for their team, as they showed good passing skills during the entire game. They will be hoping to continue giving their team decent performances, in the upcoming games as well.
